Abstract: A stage lighting apparatus includes a lamp and a first light valve, which cooperate to project a first image and a second image wherein the second image is created by applying a function to a plurality of pixels of the first image. The plurality of pixels of the first image may be arranged in a straight line. Applying the function to the plurality of pixels of the first image may cause first, second, third, and fourth sets of the plurality of pixels to deviate from the straight line in first, second, third, and fourth directions, respectively. The first and third directions may be substantially the same, the second and fourth directions may be substantially the same, and the first direction may be substantially opposite the second direction
